Eye Care and Vision Survey - West Sussex

SeeAbility is working in West Sussex to improve access to eye care and vision services for people with learning difficulties.

To find out more about local eye care and vision services, we asked people to tell us their experiences. We conducted a survey with the following groups -

  • People with Learning Difficulties
  • Family Carers
  • Health and Social Care Professionals
  • Optometrists

The results make very interesting reading and will help to guide our future work in West Sussex. Key findings from the questionnaires include -

  • People with learning difficulties telling us what they value most in an eye test.
  • Family carers explaining what makes eye care more accessible to individuals.
  • The underlying message was the need to continue to work to raise awareness about the importance of eye care.
