Introduction

• There are number of eye conditions that can benefit from surgery
• Many eye conditions however cannot benefit from surgical intervention, and other help needs to be sought to manage this condition
• Surgery for some eye conditions will not restore previously lost sight, but will only stop vision becoming worse
• There are sometimes other treatments (such as using eye drops), that can be used to help with these eye conditions

The most common eye conditions that can require surgery are:

• Cataracts
• Corneal problems, such as Keratoconus
• Glaucoma
• Diabetes
