Cataract

A cataract is the clouding of the part of the eye called the lens. The impact of a cataract upon vision depends on the thickness or density of the cataract and its position within the lens. Commonly cataracts occur in later life, although they may be congenital (present at birth) and occur in children or sometimes in younger adults.
